Engineering firms and consultants: connect your projects to certified carbon revenue for clients.

If you plan, finance or deliver retrofits — energy savings as a service, ESCO, portfolio decarbonization — Ontoly gives you a second revenue stream to put in front of your client, and you can run the whole process on their behalf.
You do the audit. You size the equipment. You build the model. And the conversation ends somewhere between "we love it" and "not this year", because the savings don't carry the capital and there is no other money in the room.
We are looking to work with retrofit partners because you are the ones sitting in that room. Ontoly does not design or install anything. What we do is certify the emissions reduction your project creates and turn it into carbon revenue — which in practice means handing you a materially better ROI to present.
We onboard partner firms onto the Ontoly Portal and train your team to list and manage projects on behalf of your clients. You complete the forms, request the Preliminary Assessment Reports, manage the annual data uploads and run the sale. Your client does not have to learn a new system.
Two things need to be in place before you can act for a client:
Confirm with the building owner whether they are open to selling a portion or all of the credits, and which years. Confirm who holds title where there is a lease, an energy services agreement or third-party financing in place. And be straight with them about the crediting period: this is a ten-year instrument, and the decision they make now shapes what they can claim later.
Ontoly is a registry and certification body. We do not design, install, commission or finance anything. We take an independent performance forecast as a fixed input, quantify the projected reductions, run the project through monitoring and third-party verification, issue serialized credits at the building level, and give your client a route to buyers. We pay the verification body costs and complete the final calculations on their behalf.
What stays with you is the part you are good at: the measure selection, the delivery, and the client relationship. What stays with the building representative is the data — meters have to work and monthly consumption data has to be reviewed, because there is no credit without real post-retrofit performance. In practice this is the single most common reason a project's issuance slips, so it is worth being explicit with your client at the outset about who is responsible for the utility data each year.
Onboarding is light. We set your firm up in the portal, walk your team through listing, eligibility screening and the annual upload, and give you the attestation and benefit sharing templates. From there you can run projects yourself. We would rather you were self-sufficient in the portal than dependent on us for every submission.
Two things. It improves your client's project economics enough to move stalled proposals into implementation, and it gives you a credible reason to reopen the pipeline of projects you already lost at feasibility. Because we calculate financial additionality at a granular level, you can show a client not just that carbon revenue helps, but precisely how much of their gap it closes.
Bring us a real proposal that didn't clear, and we will show you what the numbers look like with carbon revenue in them. Or start with the ROI calculator to get a sense of the value at play.
